The kids will be out of school on Wednesday, Dec. 23 for the start of the holidays and one Lehigh group of men, the owners of Three Amigos restaurant, has some big plans to make it a big day for them. The date in the printed edition was an error.

“We’re going to celebrate Christmas here for the kids and it’s all going to be free, games, a bounce house, burgers and hotdogs and playing miniature golf for as long as they want,” said Jaime Comas, who along with his brother, Francisco Comas, and his nephew, Mani Comas, operate Three Amigos restaurant at Town Lakes, at 607 Williams Ave.

It all begins around 11 a.m. and continues to dusk, Jaime Comas said. “But Santa may be here in the morning and there may be some surprises.”

Teresa Gutierriez, who operates the miniature golf course, says there may even be free pony rides and they’re all hinting that Santa Claus may arrive with some gifts. She said the kids can play miniature golf at the Fiesta Golf Course at 601 Williams Ave., just across from the restaurant.

“It’s all part of celebrating Christmas with the kids and giving back to the community and letting their parents know of our restaurant,” said Jaime Comas. Three Amigos, a fine and elegant restaurant inside, has been open for a few months now and even though it may not be on the main streets of Lehigh, it has a lot to offer, Comas said.

For the past few weeks, just prior to the Christmas season, comas has been offering a $4.95 lunch if you bring your boss to eat and the boss gets in free.

“We have good prices and excellent American and Cuban foods here,” Comas said.

About the day for kids, just before Christmas Eve, Comas says he wants the kids of Lehigh to really enjoy themselves.

“We’ll have plenty of things for them to do and when Santa comes, there may be some surprises,” he laughed.

There will be finger foods for the parents who can come into the restaurant and the Three Amigos say there will be a free midnight buffet there, too.

“We’ll have a fine mix of American foods and some Cuban foods, nothing really hot, but just good American food with some being influenced with Cuban flavors,” Jamie Comas said.

Three Amigos is open for fine dining at reasonable prices on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Wednesday to Friday from 11 to 2 a.m. and on Saturday from 11 to 2 a.m. their hours on Sunday are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

To stay in the party spirit, the Comas three amigos, say they’re planning a dress-up New Year’s Eve Party with music entertainment all night.

There’s a dance floor near the bar area and Jamie said a $40 cover charge includes free champaign from 7 to 8 p.m. And five-course surf and turn meals with party favors and party poppers to welcome in the new year of 2010.

“This will be a nice affair and we are asking guests to dress in their best attire, suits, party dresses and even tuxedos for men will be great,” Jaime said.

“We just friends having fun, and that’s our theme,” he said. “It will be the place to be on New Year’s Eve and we all can welcome in the new year with a big bang.”
