Man wakes up to loud crashing sound

Rob Braitling said a “very loud sound” woke him up early one morning last week and he jumped from his bed to run to a window to see that a motorist had taken out his mailbox, jetted across his yard, jumped the neighbor’s driveway and eventually flipped.
“It was really pretty loud to wake me up so early,” Braitling said. The accident, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, occurred at around 6:12 a.m. on Parkdale Blvd.
A spokesman with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Stephanie Eller, said the woman driving the car was identified as Diana Villa who was charged with careless driving. She was listed as living at 411 Juno Drive in Lehigh on Dec. 24.
Braitling said at first he didn’t know if the driver was injured, but officials at Lehigh Regional Medical Center treated and released her with minor injuries.
“It sure made a lot of noise. I really didn’t know what had happened,” Braitling said. He was planning to get up a little later for work in Cape Coral.

Villa was charged wit careless driving, according to lee county Sheriff spokeswoman, Sgt. Stephanie Eller.
