The following upcoming upcoming public meets are scheduled in Lehigh Acres. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in local issues.

Lehigh Acres Community Planning Corp. (LACPC) meets on Jan. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Park Community Center. The LACPC meets on the second Wednesday night of each month and is open to the public.

East County Water Control District (ECWCD) meets at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25 at its office on East County Lane off of Lee Blvd. Call 368-0044 for more information.

The Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District will meet at 4 p.m. on Jan. 21 at Veterans Park Community Center.

Lehigh Community Council will meet Monday, Jan. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Living Waters Christian Fellowship Church at 500 N. Sunshine Blvd., next to Doc’s Auto Repair (the former Fleet Reserve building). The Community Council usually meets the third Monday of each month but since Jan. 18 is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the meeting has been reschedule. The Lehigh Acres Streetlight District Advisory Committee has changed its meeting schedule for 2010. They will meet on the second Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Veterans Park Recreation Center. The first meeting of the year will be January 11 at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. Open to public comment at the beginning and the end of the meeting.
