General Women’s Clubs meets Jan. 15

The General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres will hold its January meeting at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15 at the Faith Lutheran Church on Leeland heights Blvd. The program will be about prison ministries and presented by Michelle Camp. There will be a silent auction and attendees are asked to bring items for the auction. There is also a raffle at the club’s Spring Fashion Show on March 13 to support Hope Hospice with one of that organization’s rooms.

Lehigh Concert Band performs Jan. 17

The Lehigh Concert Band will perform at 3 p.m. on January 17 with a “Meet the Musicians and Celebration of the New Year.” All concerts are held at the Faith Lutheran Church at 705 E. Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh Acres. Admittance is free.

Steak Fry planned by Legion on Jan. 16

The American Legion Post 323 in Lehigh will hold a Steak Fry on Jan. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. and a sock hop from 7 p.m. until it ends. Cost of the steak fry is $11 per serving. The Legion is at 1124 Ashler Ave., just behind the Burger King restaurant.

Kreegel staff member to be in Lehigh

Rep. Paige V. Kreegel, (R-72) will have a member of his staff at the East County Regional Library on Thursday, January 14 and again on Thursday, Jan. 28 to discuss any issues or state related problems the citizens of Lehigh may have. Bingo, card Party set Jan. 20 at St. Raphael Church

St. Raphael Altar and Rosary Society has scheduled at Bingo and Card Party for Wednesday, Jan. 20 from noon to 3 p.m. with a donation of $6. It will be in the Parish Hall of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church on Lee Blvd., across from the Walmart.

A light lunch, tea or coffee will be served.

Bring your own playing cards or games and make up your tables. There will be prizes and raffles. Tickets available from members of chairperson Jean Castaldi. Call 239-209.8945.

Alva programs are announced

The Mom’s morning out is a program for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 years old. Program included: games inside, play time, short movies, snack, playground, arts and crafts, and a lot of fun time with music.

Attention Mothers: You can have three hours for your self, and we take care of your children.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Session one: January 13. Session two: May 5; $5 per session/participant.

Potty training required.

Mommy (or Daddy) and Me

Designed to encourage social interaction through play. Parents will stay with their child and be active participants. This is a chance to share experiences in parenting.

Ages 0 to 4 years old. From March 3. to March 31 on Wednesdays 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Registration fee: $10, five weeks session-per participant/child.

Parkinson’s medication seminar scheduled

Medications are an important part of the treatment plan for those living with Parkinson’s.

The Hope Parkinson Program will host two seminars, led by Dr. Therese Zesiewicz, professor of Neurology at the University of South Florida. Her focus will be on the different medications available to treat the motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and their side effects.
