Lehigh man on list for grand marshal voting

The Edison Festival of Light is proud to provide Southwest Florida with the opportunityto vote for one lucky person to receive recognition for all the good they do in the community by riding in the Edison Festival of Light parades as Honorary Grand Marshal.

One of the nominees – Frank LaRosa is from Lehigh Acres.

“We were impressed with the heartfelt nominations this year. It was a difficult task to narrow the list to just four,” said Festival President Laura Hamel-Jones. Finalists from recent nominations are presented for “My Choice” voting at info@edisonfestival.org. Nominees are local residents who:

Give back to our community on a regular basis

Deserve credit for their good deeds but don’t always receive it

Are an inspiration toward making our community a better place to live.

The deadline for voting is January 22, 2010.

The four honorary grand marshal finalists are:

Jason Gunter

Frank LaRosa

Justin McBride

Pat Schmidt

The honorary grand marshal will be announced following the Florida Power and Light, Edison Day of Discovery just before the Illuminating Bed Race on January 30.

As a tribute to their commitment to the community, the winner will earn a seat as the honorary “My Choice” Grand Marshal for the Edison Festival of Light Junior Parade on February 14,and the Edison Festival of Light Grand Parade on February 20. The winner will also receive two VIP passes to the Grand Parade.
