Man sought in attempted abduction of Lehigh child
The Lee County Sheriff’s office today said that on Friday, January 22, at around 3:09 p.m., deputies at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Lehigh responded to the area of Eisenhower and Jaguar boulevards in Lehigh concerning an attempted abduction of a child. Deputies met with the victim and learned that while the victim was walking in the area of Eisenhower and Jaguar, she was approached by a white male driving an SUV, Sheriff’s officials aid in a news release. The man got out of his car and approached the girl, investigators said. He then ordered her to get into his car. The juvenile victim screamed and ran away from the suspect. The suspect then got back into his vehicle and drove off. At no point did the suspect make physical contact with the victim, investigators said.
Deputies conducted a massive search for the suspect’s vehicle. Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit also conducted a search by air, while patrol deputies canvassed the ground. The extensive search failed to locate the suspect.
Investigators describe the suspect as a white male in his late 20s to mid 30s, five feet, four inches. He has light colored hair with a moustache and was wearing a black shirt with blue jeans. The vehicle he was traveling in is described as a champagne colored SUV, possibly a Rav 4 or Jeep Liberty. It also has a hitch on the front designed for towing other vehicles, investigators said.
