Surveillance tape of robbery in October released by Sheriff’s Office
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has released a surveillance video of an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 9:36 p.m. That was when they received a report of an armed robbery at the Subway, located at 2802 Lee Blvd., in Lehigh Acres.
The suspect was described as a white male, approximately five feet, six inches tall, about 140 pounds and wearing a long sleeve black sweatshirt with pockets in the front, long dark pants, a black ski mask, and brandishing a handgun.
The suspect pointed his gun at the victims and forced the employees and a customer into a cooler at gunpoint. He then removed an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store. The video can be seen on local TV stations that carry the story.
Robbery detectives from the Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate. After an extensive investigation, detectives are now releasing surveillance video in hopes that someone will remember seeing or hearing something and be able to provide information that will help identify the perpetrator, Sheriff’s officials said.
