LACPC looking for someone to fill vacancy on board
There is a vacant seat on the Lehigh Acres Community Planning Corp. (LACPC) and as of today, nobody has applied to fill that seat. The seat became available in January when LACPC President Bo Turbeville resigned from the board. He said because of other activities, he felt he should bow out and remove himself from the board. The board accepted his resignation and new officers were elected with Edd Weiner voted in as president.
The LACPC meets on the second Wednesday night of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Park Center. It is a 14-member board and was responsible for the formation with a professional firm for a Lehigh land use plan. The study in in Tallahassee awaiting approval. Then the Lee County Commission will officially accept the plan into its overall comprehensive plan.
The LACPC listens to developers who plan projects in Lehigh and sends its recommendations to the Lee County Commission. It is considering the formation of an architectural board to give its okay or rejection of plans from developers in the future. That opinion is passed on the the county. Interested applicants in filling the seat should send a letter stating why they are interested in becoming a member and send it to Edd Weiner, PO Box 757, Lehigh Acres, FL., 33936. It should be postmarked by Feb. 9. You can also show up at the meeting and inform the board that you are interested in serving.
