FGUA needs to stop this billing fee
To The Editor,
I am very concerned about FGUA’s billing practice of billing people for a service availability bill.
I had my water turned off as no one lives in the home and FGUA has just started billing me for what is called a service available fee that’s billing me for a service that is available to me whether I’m using it
or not.
This needs to stop.
Also they have another billing practice that is called estimated water use and I am being billed for that, again remember that the home is vacant and the
water is turned off and the meter was removed in late September of 2009, but they continue to send me bills for 6,000 gallons of water I did not use each
month.
I keep telling them. FGUA has a real billing flaw; it seems none of the elected officials are interested in this problem.
I know FGUA needs to raise cash quickly to fund the badly managed operation called FGUA, but we do have laws?
Can someone please help and stop the service available fee before every company in Florida starts billing anyone because they have a service that is available?
Can you print this letter and include my email so the consumers who are outraged at this practice can start a class action lawsuit?
FGUA is a badly managed operation and what’s really scary is they supply drinking water to millions of people; if the company is mismanaged I wonder about security. I also wonder accountability, which I understand is very limited.
