Lehigh, Alva students honored by Sheriff’s Office
Several Lehigh Acres students were honored Thursday, Feb. 18 when the Lee County Sheriff’s Office held its monthly Do The Right Thing ceremony in the School District’s offices on Colonial Ave. in Fort Myers.
The students included:
Carl Monix of Lehigh Acres is a sixth grade student at Varsity Lakes Middle School. He was honored for turning in a water resistant watch that he found
at school.
Erica Withers of Lehigh Acres is a sixth grade student at Varsity Lakes Middle School. She was honored for turning in a cell phone she found in the hallway of the school.
Leondra Marle of Lehigh Acres is a sixth grade student at Varsity Lakes Middle School. She was honored for also returning in a new cell phone that she found in the restroom of the school.
Alberto Quintanilla of Lehigh Acres is a sixth grade student at Varsity Lakes Middle School. He was honored for his positive behavior and being able to say no to bad peer pressure.
Alden Wolpert of Lehigh Acres is a sixth grade student at Varsity Lakes Middle School. He was honored because he demonstrates maturity and responsibility regarding a safety matter at the school and for being attentive when a fire at his home began to rekindle by putting it out.
Eric Benitez of Lehigh Acres is a seventh grade Student at Alva Middle School. He was honored because he found a $50 video game and was able to locate the owner so he turned it in at school.
Mary Rigby of Alva is a sixth grade student at Alva Middle School. She was honored for having found several things on school grounds of value and turned them to the office.
Carlos Mendez of Lehigh Acres is a ninth grade student at Lehigh Senior High School. He was honored for turning in a wallet with $50 in cash in it.
Jonathan Nunez of Lehigh Acres is a ninth grade Student at East Lee County High School. He was honored for helping a fellow student who suffered a seizure.
