The 19-month-old toddler that jumped from a wagon being pulled by family members on Tuesday morning has died.

The little girl, Alexa Solheim, was being pulled in a wagon near Homestead Rd. and Adams Ave. in Lehigh. When they got near Homestead Rd., according to Lee County Sheriff’s reports, the child left the wagon and wandered into traffic on busy Homestead Rd. and was struck by a car.

Officials said she was hit by a Chevy Impala and rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition, but it was learned early today that the toddler died from her injuries.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing an investigation into the tragic incident.
