Prep Report: Knights dealt first loss ,1-0
An unearned run in the first inning was all Riverdale could muster Friday night, but it was enough to hand North Fort Myers its first softball defeat 1-0.
The Red Knights wasted a good pitching effort from Jackie Owen (5-1), who struck out 12 batters and scattered five hits.
Riverdale opened the game with a single, followed by a fielder’s choice. A wild pitch and a sacrifice fly led to the game’s only run.
North’s Lexi Schlotter (2-for-4) had the game’s only extra-base hit.
The Red Knights (5-1) host Ida Baker Tuesday night.
