Visitation will be held at Farley Funeral Home 1100 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh Acres on Monday, March 8 from 4 until the 6 p.m. funeral service for Eugene “Gene” Whitlock, 77, of Lehigh Acres who died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his home.

Formerly of New Jersey, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Whitlock served as chaplain of the Dunellen American Legion and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Amvets, the Fleet Reserve and attended Christ United Methodist Church in Lehigh. He worked for Winn-Dixie in Lehigh before retiring.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Erilynn. He is survived by his children, Keith (Ilene) Whitlock, Lisa (Ken) Stanley, Joanne (Joey) Periera, George Dunda, Gregory Dunda, George Piercy and Mary DeRosa, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and eight brothers and sisters.

Memorials may be made in his name to Christ United Methodist Church, 1430 Homestead Rd. N., Lehigh Acres, FL 33936. Arrangements were handled by Farley Funeral Home, (239) 369-2181.
