LRMC sponsors Gamble’s bid to become honorary mayor or Lehigh with fund-raiser
Oscar Gamble
Lehigh Acres Honorary Mayoral Candidate Oscar Gamble’s headquarters has just announced that a special St. Patrick’s Day celebration will be held at the Knights of Columbus in Lehigh Acres on March 17, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Oscar Gamble, a physical therapist and director of rehab services and The Wound Care Institute at Lehigh Regional Medical Center, along with his team, are organizing a St. Patrick’s Day bash in order to raise funds for Lehigh Community Services. Lehigh Regional Medical Center has always been a significant contributor to this organization, by providing help in times of need, Gamble said. All proceeds will go toward furthering the welfare and well-being of those residents living in Lehigh Acres and surrounding communities.
Gamble was named director of the year in 2009 by Lehigh Regional Medical Center for his extensive work at The Wound Care Institute and the Rehab Department. He is member of the Lehigh’s Chamber of Commerce, and in the past, he has been an active member of the Lehigh Acres Rotary Club. Currently he also serves as the Leader of the Knights of Columbus Council in Lehigh Acres. His newest endeavor is to serve on the Lee County Volunteers in Medicine Board, a foundation that has been created for the purpose of opening a much-needed free medical clinic in Lehigh Acres.
The tickets can be purchased for $10 at Lehigh Regional Medical Center’s main offices at 1500 Lee Blvd, in Lehigh Acres. This ticket entitles the guest to a dinner that includes corned beef and cabbage, potatoes, carrots, dessert and a non-alcoholic beverage. There will be also wine, beer and raffle tickets for sale at the event.
The Honorary Mayor winner will be announced at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 26 at the Lehigh Spring Festival at Veterans Park. Others seeking to become honorary mayor are the incumbent, Marylou Land, the event coordinator at Majestic Gold and County Club and Dr. Alah El-Gendy, a sleep specialist in Lehigh.
Candidates are collecting money to win the title. The one who raises the most becomes the 2010 honorary mayor of Lehigh Acres.
