Two charged with grand theft in heist of air conditioning coil
Two men were arrested Wednesday and charged with burglary to a building and grand theft, according to Capt. Ed Tamayo, commander of the Bravo District substation in Lehigh.
Tamayo said that at a little after 11 a.m., Wednesday morning, deputies at Bravo District Lehigh received a call reporting that a burglary and grand theft had just occurred at 3014 25th Street, West, where the air conditioning coil was stolen.
The caller was able to follow the suspect vehicle until Deputy Pooser who conducted the traffic stop located it, Tamayo said.
“During the investigation, Det. Bill Lucas was able to find the stolen property off of East 9th Street. Cpl. Steve Cart also was of great assistance during the investigation as was CSA Donna Sweedy who was able to contact the victim who is in California,” Tamayo said.
“Great example of team work,” he said.

* Fredrick Kennedy, 39, of 736 Kalamar Drive, Lehigh Acres, charged with burglary to dwelling and grand theft.
* Joseph Wilson, 57, of 206 Leeland Heights Blvd., Lehigh, charged with burglary to dwelling and grand theft.
