Wants to still be reading Citizen at age 97

By Staff | Mar 14, 2010

To The Editor,

Back in September of 2009 I was not feeling good and drove myself to the Emergency Room at Lehigh Regional Medical Center and thanks to their very quick diagnosis, they found I had a blood leak in the brain that required an urgent operation and they transferred me to Lee Memorial Hospital immediately where the operation was successful.

From there I was sent to the Heartland for four weeks of rehabilitation and again very successful with no speech or other problems from the surgery.

I am 87 and now living in my own apartment in my own apartment at Fountain Crest retirement home in Lehigh where I am very happy. I want to thank all the doctors and nurses at both Lehigh Regional Medical Center and Lee Memorial Hospital and the same for the people at Heartland where I did rehab, all for saving my life.

The other factors that helped me through the trauma was my faith and my prayers to my Patron Saint Joseph and well as all the get-well cards love and support from my friends and family. I hope to still be reading The Lehigh Acres Citizen when I am 97 years old.
