Lehigh Kiwanis helps with college educations
The Lehigh Acres Kiwanis Club is supporting 34 students in their college education with scholarships totaling so far $35,750 in these fall and spring college semesters.
During the same time frame, Lehigh Acres Kiwanis has also supported local area school programs (sports and art) in the amount of $9,700, local area service groups in the amount of $3,240 and local youth sports programs in the amount of $2,500.
Chartered in April, 1968, the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres is one of our community’s oldest civic organizations.
“No other club in our community has contributed more money, time and volunteer hours to youth, elderly, or those in need than the Kiwanis. That is a record our members are proud of and one that requires our organization to reach out and continually enlist others to energize our ranks.
“Our charitable funds are raised exclusively through the generous donations to and by our customers’ patronage of the Kiwanis Thrift Store at 15 Homestead Rd South,” said Damon Shelor, the club’s president.
