April events at Lehigh Senior Citizen Center
These are the Lehigh Acres Senior Citizens Center upcoming events for April.
* Every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Bingo, large jackpots, nonmembers welcome.
* The Wednesday Afternoon Dances 2:30-4 p.m., live nine-piece band, second and fourth Wednesday of the month.
* Monday through Friday from 9 to 11 a.m., free blood pressure checks for members.
Every Fridayfrom 1:30 to 4 p.m., Tea Dance, closed April 2 for Good Friday, no dance on April 16, too.
Diabetic classes have been canceled.
April 1 and 15 from 7 to 9 p.m., dance with Le Deux, $3 for members and $4 for nonmembers.
April 1 at 12:30 p.m, indoor picnic and talent show. Sign up a week in advance and for members only.
April 5 at 11:30 a.m., Learn at Lunch, Legacy One presents preplanning for burial expenses, for members only and you must sign up to attend.
April 8 at 9 a.m., Doctors Breakfast features Dr. Ruiz. Breakfast and doctor provided by LRMC, must sign up.
April 12 from 7 to 9 p.m, karaoke night, $2 donation requested.
April 12 at 11:30 a.m., Learn at Lunch, crime prevention. Members must sign up a week in advance, Fountain Crest provides lunch.
April 14 at 11:30 a.m., Hotdog Day, chips and soda, sign up week in advance and must be a member.
April 15 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Birthday Lunch for April birthdays. Sign up a week in advance, must be member and family can sign up even if not a member, but will pay $7.50.
April 19 at 11:30 a.m., Learn at Lunch, Dr. Stephen Schroering topic will be orthopedics. Lunch provided by Schroering. Must sign up a week in advance and you must be a member.
April 20 at 10:30 a.m., Meet ‘n Eat, carpool to Golden Corral. You must sign up a week in advance.
April 22 at 9 a.m., Doctor’s Breakfast,topic will be falling. Breakfast and doctor provide by LRMC. Must sign up.
April 22 at 1 p.m. Movie Day, Dr. Doolittle. Sign up for popcorn, must be a member.
April 26 and 27 from noon to 3 p.m., AARP Driver’s Safety Class, must call AARP to sign up.
April 29 at 12:30 p.m, barbecue with entertainment, presented by the entertainment group, must sign up a week in advance.
Daily classes offered every day. There is line dancing, bocce, creative writing, discussion group, all types of card games, Swedish weaving, tatting, needlework-many types, punchneedle, woodcarving, stain glass, simulated bowling, sewing for beginners or advanced, pine needle baskets, art (all mediums), weight loss group, walking, make a Teddy Bear class, craft class, exercise classes, quilting, ping pong, beginner and intermediate computer classes, Entertainment group puts on skits and singing group. There is also the Golden Shell Boutique open to the public where clothes and a multitude of other items are for sale.
