Prep Report: Tritons fall to Jenkins, 6-2

By Staff | Mar 31, 2010

The Mariner Tritons had the most hits and the most extra-base hits, but George Jenkins had the most runs on the scoreboard. That’s what counts the most as Jenkins handed the Tritons their second defeat of the season 6-2 Tuesday night at Mariner.

Of the Tritons’ 10 base hits, four went for extra bases. The only ones that accounted for runs were a solo home run in the first inning by Audry Santana (4-for-4) and a solo home run by his brother Alex Santana in the fifth inning.

Daniel Alimonti (2-for-4) and Dan Cohill added doubles for the Tritons (12-2), who host Minneapolis Southwest at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a makeup of Monday’s rainout.
