LRMC Auxiliary to offer scholarships
The Lehigh Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary is awarding several scholarship to applicants studying for a medical degree.
You must be a Lehigh resident. You can pick up an application at the front desk at the hospital.

Register now to be Lehigh Hope Hospice volunteer
Hope Hospice will offer volunteer orientation at its new Hope Health Care Center located at 1201 Wings Way, Lehigh Acres, off Beth Stacey Blvd. on Thursday, April 22. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Hospice officials say you can make a difference in the life of someone in your neighborhood. Volunteers are needed for transportation and patient and family
assistance. No experience necessary. A volunteer application, TB test, and criminal background check need to be completed prior to the class.

Self-defense course for women planned
A six-week self-defense course for women will be taught by internationally certified Black Belt Master martial arts instructor, Eddie Rose. The course starts this week and run through May 14.
Participants may choose to attend three times per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) from 2 to 3 p.m. or from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. The course will also be offered on Saturdays from 8 to 10 a.m.
Classes will be held at The Wellness Center of Cape Coral, 609 SE 13th Court, Cape Coral. The cost of the course is $99 for Lee Memorial Health System employees and Wellness Center members and $149 for the public. To register, visit the front desk of The Wellness Center or call 573-4800. Free BBQ at Heron Pond Senior Expo
A free barbecue lunch for those attending the Free Senior Expo at Heron Pond Apartments is scheduled for Wednesday, April 7 from 11 a.m.to 2 p.m.
At this first annul Senior Expo, there will be more than 50 vendors from all over the community including heath care, restaurants, crafts and much more. The location is at 1232 Village Lakes Blvd., in Lehigh. For questions, call 239-368-6850.
Lehigh Kiwanis needs help to prepare meals
The Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres Foundation Is holding its “Kiwanis One Day” project and needs volunteers to pack 65,000 meals. These meals will be shipped to Haiti and 5,000 meals will go to the food pantries in Lehigh Acres. The Kiwanis are looking for 100 volunteers to help out in this event which starts at 7:30 a.m. in the social hall of Christ United Methodist Church on April 10. Youth Soccer group holds membership meeting
The Lehigh Acres Youth Soccer Association will conduct its annual general membership meeting on Sunday, April 11 started at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Lehigh Regional Medical Center in the cafeteria at 1500 Lee Blvd., in Lehigh . Judah to answer questions in Lehigh on April 7
Lee County Commissioner Ray Judah will be in Lehigh on April 7 at the Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce office at the Lehigh Towne Center to meet with anyone who would like to ask any questions about county issues.
Edd Weiner, a member of the Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce and head of the Economic Development Office, said Judah will be there from 9 to 11 a.m.
“Anyone who has questions or concerns about what is going on in the county is invited to meet Commissioner Judah on that day,” said Weiner.
Golf tourney planned April 10 at Majestic
The St. Raphael Council 5292 of the Knights of Columbus will hold a golf tournament at the Majestic Golf Club on Saturday, April 10. Lunch will be served and prizes awarded. The shotgun start will be at 8:30 a.m. Golfers of all levels are invited to participate. The cost is $60 per entrant. For
