Letters:McCollum warned suit will cost him governor’s seat

By Staff | Apr 9, 2010

To The Editor:

I am concerned that Attorney General Bill McCollum’s intension to sue over the health care reform is not in the best interest of Florida’s citizens.

So many unemployed will need this coverage and will for a very long time as Florida does not have the economic engines to have a quick recovery.

Odds are against a win in the courts.

McCollum is risking his race for the governor. He will cost taxpayers monies at a time when there are so many other needs in the budget.

McCollum will be perceived as simply grandstanding for free publicity he thinks it will get him.

I urge McCollum to consider first, the state of Florida’s economy and secondly, the welfare of its citizens.

It is a frivolous suit and should be considered as such, when we as voters in November decide if we want a frivolous governor.
