Free event may save child from drowning
The weather in Southwest Florida is quickly improving. With rising air and water temperatures, comes the increased probability of child drownings.
That the word day from the Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida which will host a Drowning Prevention Event for three days, April 13, 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Atrium at HealthPark Medical Center, 9881 S. HealthPark Drive, Fort Myers.
Drowning is the leading cause of death for children under 4 in Florida. Hospital officials say it is 100 percent preventable
Learn how to provide layers of protection around water for your children. Anyone who has a pool or who spends time around water will want to attend this free event.
Vital, life-saving information from physicians, nurses, child life therapists and vendors will be available as well as demonstrations of safety equipment and CPR.
