Senior Center has ‘Spring Fling’

More than 150 people celebrated the new spring season under a pastel canopy with bunnies, butterflies, chicks and eggs at the Lehigh Acres Senior Center Spring Fling Picnic held earlier this month at the Center on Plaza Drive.
Special events coordinator Nancy Bartlett was master of ceremonies at the talent contest which included the following people: Don Thompson, Shirley Stevens, Evelyn Jeter, Aura and Headley Wilson, Helen Busha, Sharon Howen, Fred Bonnilla, Chet Olson, Doslyn Jones, Dude Headley Wilson, Lucy Gucofski, Gloria Skeene, Fay McKenzie, Terry Hommen, George McCollam, Pauline Rice, Mickie Thayer.
Judges Robert Anderson, Sheryl Freeman and Ralph Boettger award first place to Lucy Gucofski; second place to Headley Wilson and third place to Don Thompson.
Bubba Burgers were cooked by “Grillmaster” Peggy Halvorsen and Bartlett’s vegetable noodle salad was a favorite. Bartlett introduced the Center’s board members who attended and Director Teresa Perkins welcomed the large group of guests.
Volunteer servers were Sylvia Consolazio, George McCollam, Gladys, Olivieri, Penny Phillips, Jo Palmer, Pauleen Rice, Vera Rolling and Marie St. Pierre.
