Firefighters fight two house blazes overnight
Fire Marshal Kenneth Bennett and the state fire marshal are investigating two residential structure fires that occurred overnight on April 21.
The first fire was at 120 Rowland Rd. at 8:08 p.m.
Bennett said that it was a kitchen fire that developed on a stove. The fire was extinguished by the occupants of the house upon arrival. No injuries were reported and Bennett said fire damage was contained to the kitchen and is estimated at $17,000 in losses.
The second fire was reported at 508 Corinne Drive at 9:16 p.m.
Bennett said it was a kitchen fire with damages contained to the kitchen area. There was smoke damage throughout the house. He said occupants were not home at the time of the blaze. There were no injuries. Bennett said damages have been estimated at $22,000.
