32 more Lehigh road resurfacing projects set
Lee Commissioner Frank Mann has announced that Lehigh residents will be pleased to know that Lehigh Acres continues to enjoy nearly one third of the county’s road resurfacing budget.
A change order was approved for the road resurfacing contract issued to Better Roads Inc. in the amount of $303,566, which provides for the resurfacing of an additional 32 roads in Lehigh Acres, on top of the 75 roads already planned and budgeted.
The total road resurfacing budget for 2010/2011 is approximately $3 million. of which over $1.3 million is dedicated to Lehigh.
Mann said he is continuing to meet with the county’s DOT operation staff, to discuss the status of this ongoing project and how they can stretch every dollar to make it work.
“These road resurfacing projects are very critical to Lehigh Acres and will be one of my top priorities as we go through future budget cycles,” Mann said. He went on to say “Lehigh truly needs and deserves this attention from their county and I intend to fight to see they continue get it.”
