Some thoughts about government

By Staff | Apr 28, 2010

To the Editor,

I am not a democrat, republican, independent, socialist, conservative, right wing, left wing, liberal, moderate, activist, nor any other political label. I do not belong to any politicalparty, Tea party, Coffee party, AARP (resigned after they supported Obamacare,), nor union member.

What I am, is, an angry, defiant, un-represented American citizen. No one in Congress or in the federal government serves to represent nor act in my interest.

If they did, we would not be fighting in two wars we can not win, we wouldn’t be bailing out Wall Street, big companies and banks, we wouldn’t have a government that has tripled in size and trying to control every aspiration of my life.

We would not have a record number of unemployed Americans, an open border for all illegal immigrants and dope dealers, failing schools, trillions of dollars in debt and climbing.

So, who are the members of Congress and the federal government representing? It sure as hell isn’t Americans.

If they were representing me they would win the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and get out. Then never fight another war on foreign soil that is not backed 100 percent by the American people and the United Nations Organization.

They would take the money left in the “stimulus” package and that repaid in Tarp, and give it to small and private companies so they can create jobs. Americans with jobs will keep Wall Street, Main Street, large companies and banks, car companies, housing, and medical companies, thriving. Always have and always will.

Americans did not create this mess we are in, the government did. We need to close our borders, return all illegal immigrants, beef up the requirements for becoming an American citizen (must speak English and abide by American law) and make it easier (not so much time and red tape) to become a legal immigrant.

Get federal government out of our school system and return it to the states and parents. Hold parents accountable for the actions of their children and give them the programs and the tools to help them do it.

Stop bussing students all over the county and improve neighbor schools.

Let the teachers, teach, award those that do, and fire those that don’t. Stop the growth of the federal government and remember, every dime that the government spends comes from you, the American taxpayer.

There is no product or job creation that comes from the government that isn’t paid for by you. There is no free lunch.

We are the greatest country in the world. We just need a Congress and government that represents us. Make your voice heard in the next election. Know who you are voting for, not which party they belong to, but for what they stand. Remember, there are term limits – it is called – casting your vote in each election.
