Here’s how to apply for seat on the LACPC

By Staff | May 4, 2010

Due to the resignation of Lehigh Acres Community Planning Corp. (LACPC) member Damon Shelor, there is an opening to fill his seat.

The LACPC meets on the second Wednesday night of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Veterans Park Community Center. It helped to form the Lehigh Acres Plan which will become a part of the Lee County Comprehensive Plan.

Potential developers and builders come to the LACPC to get recommendations and/or approval for an upcoming project in Lehigh. The public is also invited to the LACPC when they have concerns in the community regarding housing, code enforcement and development.

It is now developing ordinances for consideration to fine tune the Lehigh Acres Plan. Committees have been formed to address several issues in Lehigh.

If you are interested in becoming a part of this 14-member board, send a letter to Edd Weiner, chairman of the LACPC, to 25 Homestead, Unit 41, Lehigh Acres, 33936. It should be postmarked or delivered to Weiner at the Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce at the Lehigh Towne Center by May 11.

The next meeting is May 12.

Members will ask you a few questions about your interest in Lehigh before a vote is taken.
