Sheriff’s Office passes audit

By Staff | May 7, 2010

Officials at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office say they are proud that an annual audit conducted for the Auditor General has found the sheriff’s office to once again be in compliance with the financial rules and regulations mandated by Florida State Statute and the State of Florida Auditor General.

“With the trying economic times and the preparation of this year’s fiscal budget, it is reassuring to know that our agency has proven once again that all financial matters are in compliance with the provisions of laws, regulations, contracts, grant agreements and other matters,” said Sheriff Mike Scott. “I hold my fiscal management team to a very high standard and they understand they have a fiduciary responsibility to the tax payers of Lee County.”

KPMG LLP conducted the audit on behalf of the county.
