By Staff | May 26, 2010

BRADENTON – The Fort Myers Miracle carried a one-run lead into the sixth inning, but the Bradenton Marauders scored three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to claim a 6-2 victory Tuesday night.

Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, the Miracle plated their only runs of the night on back-to-back two-out RBI singles. With Evan Bigley on second base, Dan Rohlfing raked a single into left with Bigley beating the throw to the plate. Rohlfing, who advanced to second on the throw home, scored on Nick Romero’s RBI single.

Rohlfing was 2-for-4 on the night with a ninth inning double, and Romero (2-for-4) continued his hot hitting in the series. He now has five hits in the last two games.

The Marauders’ three runs in the sixth chased Miracle starter Blake Martin from the hill. Martin (1-2), who made his third start of the season, gave up five earned runs on 10 hits while striking out four.

Andrei Lobanov entered to record the final out of the sixth inning before yielding the final two runs in the next inning.

The third game of the series is Wednesday night.
