Miracle take 10-4 beating
BRADENTON – The Marauders pounded out 14 hits for the second night in a row Wednesday, pummeling the Fort Myers Miracle 10-4.
The Marauders won the final two games of the three-game series with the Miracle (19-27). With the loss, the Miracle fall eight games under .500 for the first time since April 27 when they were 5-13. They now trail Bradenton (28-18) by nine games in the Florida State League’s South Division standings.
The Marauders wasted no time, scoring six runs in the first three innings against Fort Myers starter Michael Tarsi. Robbie Grossman hit a solo home run in the first inning, three runs came across on RBI singles in the second, and a two-run home run by Calvin Anderson in the third.
Trailing 6-0, the Miracle bats rallied for four runs in the fourth against Bradenton starter Jeff Locke. The Miracle scorched four doubles off the left-hander, chasing him from the game after recording just two outs in the fourth.
Estarlin De Los Santos doubled to lead off the inning and Chris Parmelee followed with a single. Deibinson Romero’s sacrifice fly to right brought home the first run. Evan Bigley and Brian Dozier slapped with back-to-back doubles with Dozier picking up two RBI. Nick Romero drove in the final run on the fourth double of the inning.
The Miracle head to Brevard County for a four-game weekend series against the Manatees starting Thursday night.
