Coleman on Triple-A All Star ballot
Former Mariner High School standout Casey Coleman has been placed on the ballot for the Triple-A All-Star Game fan voting that will take place June 3-25.
With the Triple-A Iowa Cubs of the Pacific Coast League, Coleman is 5-3 with 10 starts and a 3.32 ERA this season.
The All-Star Game is scheduled for July 14 at Allentown, Pa., home of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and will be broadcast live on MLB Network.
Coleman also toiled for the Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles before being drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2008. He made his professional debut at Class A Boise in the Northwest League where he was 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA in four starts and seven appearances. Coleman recorded 24 strikeouts in 26.2 innings pitched. He also made five starts for Class A Peoria in the Midwest League (2-2, 2.70, 18K, 23.1 IP)
He was promoted to the Daytona Cubs in the Class A Florida State League for his final start of 2008.
Coleman made 27 starts for the Double-A Tennessee Smokes of the Southern League, finishing 14-6 (3.68 ERA, 84 K, 149 IP) in 2009.
