By Staff | Jun 8, 2010

The Grainger Foundation, Lake Forest, Illinois, has donated $10,000 to Lee County High Tech Central in support of its mission to prepare students for the world of work by providing quality education delivered by a professional and caring staff in a positive learning environment, according to Lee County Schools spokesman Joseph Donzelli.

“Many of our graduates have become successful business owners, entrepreneurs and skilled professionals in all walks of life,” said Bill McCormick, the director of High Tech Central.

“This donation will provide scholarships to deserving students who are pursing their education goals in order to have a fulfilling career. We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.”

This donation was recommended by Todd Zellner, branch manager of W.W. Grainger Inc.’s Fort Myers location. Grainger has been a part of the Fort Myers business community for more than 50 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair, and operating products.

“We are proud to recommend the programs offered by High Tech Central,” said Zellner. “We understand the need for technical and career training in the local community.”

Donzelli said High Tech Central offers students more than 29 programs, including: Diesel Mechanics, Electronics, Auto Mechanics, Medical Coder/Biller, Early Childhood Education and Practical Nursing.
