Friday, June 18 was the final deadline for the filing of candidates for several seats in the upcoming elections. The following information was taken from the Lee County Board of Election Supervisors website.

The deadline for filing was noon Friday. The following are of interest to Lehigh Acres residents. Other races can be found on other websites.

Beginning with the two local offices, the Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District and the East County Water Control District, the following have qualified to run as candidates:

Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District:

Seat 2, Linda R. Carter, Whitey Doidge.

Seat 3, Robert John Anderson, Larry Decker.

Seat 5, Chuck Collins, Kevin T. Shea, Mohamed J. Yasin.

The following have qualified for the East County Water Control District:

Seat 2, David Deetscreek, Andrew Craig Frinkle, Neal Horrom.

Seat 4, Mike Bonacolta, Charles William DiFelice, Stephen C. Knott, Dewey Tyler.

Lee Memorial Health Systems

Seat 4, Diane Champion, Gary L. Eidson, Joann Conti Ellis, Chris Hansen, Frank LaRosa, John Lawlor, Dawson C. McDaniel. There are other seats open on the Lee Memorial Health Systems board.

Lee County School Board

Seat 1, Mary B. Fischer, Arnold Gibbs, John Traube.

Seat 4, Don Armstrong, Steven K. Teuber.

Seat 5, Thomas Scott, Elinor C. Scricca.
