Lehigh host families are sought for summer

By Staff | Jun 27, 2010

Host families are being sought to provide a bed, three meals and good company in the evening and on weekends for foreign exchange students from July 14 to Aug. 3.

The EF Homestead Program is a non-profit organization that places foreign exchange students with host families in Lee County.

“We have 150 English speaking high school age students coming from Spain, France, Taiwan, Hong Kong and German,” Rodriguez said.

Rodriguez said students bring their own spending money and all you have to do is provide a home.

“We are looking for homes in Lehigh, Fort Myers and Cape Coral,” Rodriguez said.

Students attend school and field trips between Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in various places in Lee County, she said. HighSchoolers of the host families, can earn 45community service hours for the three weeks.

For more information on hosting a student, contact Jennifer Rodriguez at 239-573-0665 or 239-297-1260.
