Traffic Shifts at SR82, Colonial/Lee Blvd. begin July 6
Beginning Tuesday, July 6, southbound travel lanes on SR82 will shift to the west at the intersection of SR82 and Colonial/Lee Blvd. There will be one travel lane in each direction on SR82. Once the SR82 lane shift is complete, then the eastbound travel lanes on Colonial/Lee Blvd. will shift to the north at the intersection of SR82 and Colonial/Lee Blvd., said DOT spokeswoman Kaye Molnar. There will be two travel lanes open in each direction after the traffic shift is completed Friday, July 9, she said.
Motorists should expect intermittent nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews re-stripe lanes and shift traffic. Motorists are advised to use caution driving in this area. Crews will be reconstructing the new northbound travel lanes of SR82 and the new eastbound travel lanes of Colonial/Lee Blvd. as part of the City of Fort Myers’ SR82 Widening Project. This traffic shift is expected to remain in place for approximately six months, Molnar said.
