Traffic change at SR82, Colonial/Lee Blvd.
Beginning Tuesday July 6, the southbound SR82 and eastbound Colonial/Lee travel lanes will shift to the west at the intersection of SR82 and Colonial/Lee
Boulevard. There will be one travel lane in each direction on SR82.
Once the SR82 lane shift is complete, then the eastbound travel lanes on Colonial/Lee Boulevard will shift to the north at the intersection of SR82
and Colonial/Lee Boulevard. There will be two travel lanes open in each direction after the traffic shift is completed Friday, July 9.
Motorists should expect intermittent nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews restripe lanes and shift traffic, county traffic officials say.
Motorists are advised to use caution driving in this area.
Crews will be reconstructing the new northbound travel lanes of SR82 and the new eastbound travel lanes of
Colonial/Lee Blvd. as part of the City of Fort Myers’ SR 82 widening project. This traffic shift is expected to remain in place for approximately six months, said spokeswoman Kaye Molnar.
