Thomas V. Lightner

Thomas V. Lightner Sr., 79, of Lehigh Acres lost his long, courageous battle with cancer on July 17, 2010. He is a U.S. Navy Korea veteran. He was a member of the Lehigh Acres American Legion Post 323 and the Voice Club. He was the No. 1 Washington Redskins fan and an all-around sports enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; his children, Tom (Sharon) Lightner Jr., and Debbie Jensen; his brother, Charles (Sharron) Lightner and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be held at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers on Wednesday, July 21 from 5 to 8 p.m.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 22 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials in his name may be made to Hope Hospice, 1201 Wings Way, Lehigh Acres, FL 33936.
