Miracle bury Tigers, 13-4

The Fort Myers Miracle scored a season-high run total Wednesday night in a 13-4 blowout of the Lakeland Tigers at Hammond Stadium.

The Miracle erupted for five runs in the second inning and seven in the seventh for their biggest victory margin since May 24 when they beat Bradenton 12-3. The Miracle have won nine of their last 12 games.

The Miracle (13-12) won three of the four games against the Tigers (8-17) and move above .500 for the first time since June 28 when they were 3-2 to start the second half.

The Miracle collected 16 hits, with every player in the lineup recording at least one hit and eight players had at least one RBI. Nate Hanson (3-for-4) led the onslaught with three RBI and scored three runs. Nick Romero had three hits and two RBI, Chris Herrmann, Brian Dozier and Allan De San Miguel each had two hits and two RBI.

Miracle starter Kane Holbrooks (1-0) made his debut in the Florida State League, picking up the win.

Brevard County (15-11) visits Hammond Stadium to start a four-game series Thursday night.
