Dolorees C. DiPasquale
Dolores Cataldi DiPasquale, 87, formerly of Lehigh Acres, died on June 28, 2010 in Ohio, where she moved to in 2007.
She was born in Lancaster, Pa., and was the daughter of Oreste Cataldi and Elvira Iannelli. She lived in New Jersey until 1941 when she married Sal DiPasquale. During World War II she accompanied her husband to varied military posts until he was sent to the European Theater of Operations for a year.
He remained in the Army as a career officer and she and their young son traveled to Japan for a four-year period, first in Yokohama, and then in Tokyo. She was employed by the Army Controller Division for two years and also the MSTSS Naval Operations when the Korean War broke out.
She also accompanied her husband to Germany for a three-year period with their three children. Upon their return to the states, they lived at Fort Devens, Mass., for 18 months at which time she worked with Plans and Training. Upon retirement from the military they settled in Wayne, N.J., for 17 years. They had another son. She was employed by a civil engineering company for 10 years as accounting manager.
She and her husband retired in 1980 and moved to Lehigh Acres with their youngest son, Marc. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Sal in 1995.
She moved to North east Ohio to be near her family in 2007.
She is survived by three sons, Larry (Linda) in Ohio, Ross (Rita) in Florida, Marc (Khristine) in Pennsylvania, and one daughter Donna (Ron) in Pennsylvania; grandchildren Gregory (Melissa) in Tennessee, Jennifer (Stephen) in Ohio, Lisa (Justin) in Florida, Laura in the USAF, Amber (Dave) in Mississippi, Joseph in Pennsylvania, Paula, Kelly and Manny in Florida; great-grandchildren Michael, Meredith, Noah, Gabriel, Anthony, Erin, Adrienne, Devin, Gavin, Benjamin, Alyssa.
A Memorial service and mass will be held at 10 a.m Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at St Raphael Catholic Church, 2514 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres, Fla. Inurnment will follow at Lee Memorial Park.
