Event planned for substitute teachers

An annual Back-to-School orientation program scheduled for Lee County Association of Professional Substitute Teachers and Lee county Public Schools will be begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19 at Island Coast High School at 2125 DeNavarra Parkway in Cape Coral.

The announcement was made by Marvin Goetz, president, Lee County Association of Professional Substitute Teachers.

The program, seen as a way to provide valuable information for the county’s substitute teachers and the Lee County Association of Professional Substitute Teachers and the school district are working together to conduct the orientation event.

Substitutes will hear from District staff, school board members and the superintendent of schools. There will be various workshops offered for those who attend, including PeopleSoft, SmartBoards and more. All Lee County public schools substitute teachers are encouraged to attend.
