Final sessions of Sheriff’s Summer Youth Camp are in Lehigh

By Staff | Aug 9, 2010

Time is running out for students who want to attend the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Summer Youth Program. The finals sessions are held this week (August 9-12) at Lehigh Senior High School.

The Summer Youth Program offers an opportunity for those students ages 11 to 13 to interact with law enforcement in an educational environment. The sessions give students the chance to learn first-hand more about key sheriff’s office operations including SWAT, K-9 and Aviation, Sheriff’s officials said.

The numbers of students who have attended the camps so far this summer are as follows:

Alva Middle School, 54; North Fort Myers Academy of the Arts, 50;

Three Oaks Middle School, 45; Bonita Middle School, 46.

The sessions run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and are free to the public. Those wanting more information on the program may call 258-3213.
