Tritons could have new coach Friday
Three candidates were interviewed earlier this week. Three more will be grilled Thursday.
It’s all part of the process of choosing a new head football coach at Mariner High School – and on short notice. Coach Chad O’Brien turned in his resignation last week, just seven days before the start of fall practice. Offensive coordinator Steve Larsen has been in charge of running practices on an interim basis.
“We could have a new coach by Friday, depending on several factors,” said Tritons athletic director Vito Mennona.
The Tritons are gearing up for a preseason scrimmage with Cypress Lake on Aug. 27.
