Members of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation aimed at dismantling a possible grow house operation in Lehigh Acres on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Investigators developed information indicating possible illegal activity occurring at a residence, located at 3708 4th Street SW, Lehigh Acres.

When deputies arrived at the home, they made contact with the owners of the home, identified as Roger Lee Wierengo, 32, and Christina Leann Rennie, 27. Once inside, investigators located an elaborate marijuana cultivation operation containing 60 mature marijuana plants, Sheriff officials said.

A further search of the home revealed an additional five pounds of processed marijuana, five high-powered firearms (a Smith and Wesson .50 Caliber revolver, one AR-15 rifle, one Thompson .45 caliber carbine rifle with a 50 round drum magazine, one 7mm rifle with a scope and one Remington 870 12 gage Pump shotgun), Sheriff’s officials said.

Both individuals were taken into custody and charged with one count each of trafficking marijuana, felony possession of narcotics paraphernalia and marijuana cultivation.
