The 2010 season opener for the Florida Gulf Coast University women’s soccer team against Barry University was postponed due to inclement weather in the area Friday night. A makeup date has not been scheduled.

Thunder and lightning appeared in the area at 5:30 p.m. and would not leave.

The Eagles’ season opener now is at 7 p.m. Thursday against FIU at the FGCU Soccer Complex.

FGCU’s men’s team makes its debut at 4 p.m. Wednesday against Tampa in the first of two preseason matches.

FGCU hosts the season-opening Volleyball Classic at Alico Arena starting Friday.
