Graveside services will be held at Fort Denaud Cemetery, LaBelle on Monday, August 23 at 6 p.m. for Elli K. Freybe, 82, of Lehigh Acres and formerly of Fort Denaud and Fort Myers, who died August 18, 2010.

She was born November 25, 1927 in Penzlin, Germany. Freybe came to Fort Myers in 1961 from Buffalo, New York after emigrating from Hamburg, Germany in 1953.

Freybe, along with her husband, Hans enjoyed the tropical beauty of Southwest Florida. Together they maintained 12 acres of their orange grove. They also enjoyed boating and fishing in local waters.

Freybe is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Seaman and Capt. Hans Freybe and her daughter Ingrid Freybe Farmer.

She is survived by her children Harald (Deborah) Freybe of Palm City, Fla., Evelyn (Lawrence) Banzhaf-McCord of Cincinnati, Ohio, Margie (Paul) Piper Geddes, Shirley (William) Tronoski of Aiken, S.C.; grandchildren Kirsten (Todd) Hunter, Lisa (Gregor) Piper St. John, Allison Banzhaf, Myles (Angie) Piper, and Hiliea Freybe; her great-grandchildren, Grayson St. John, Ava Marie Piper and Loring St. John.

Arrangements are being handled by Akin-Davis Funeral Home in LaBelle.
