Podiatrist joins Lehigh Medical Group

Lehigh Medical Group, a physician practice enterprise of Lehigh Regional Medical Center, has a new podiatrist on board. He is Dr. Christopher Calcagni. The announcement was made today by Chris Rakunas, LRMC’s CEO.
Calcagni is board qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Forefoot Surgery. He completed his undergraduate education at the Oklahoma State University and then earned his four-year doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He also successfully completed a three-year surgical residency program in reconstructive foot/ankle surgery at Western Reserve Care Systems in Youngstown, Ohio.
Calcagni has specialized training in wound care of the foot and ankle and has special interest in a variety of leg and foot conditions such as sports injuries, fractures, heel pain, warts, swelling of the legs, diabetic foot and others.
The Lehigh Medical Group, a primary care physician practice based in Lehigh Acres, is managed by Lehigh HMA Physician Management Inc. The group is also composed of family practitioners: Dr. Edgardo Castillo, Dr. Axel Ruiz-Tellez, Dr. Daniel Perez, Susan Strickland, DO, Dr. Michael Tucker, and the podiatrist Narmo Ortiz. The general surgeon in the group is Dr. Martin Barrios. Calcagni is accepting patients at two locations, The Wound Care Institute at Lehigh Regional Medical Center, 1530 Lee Blvd. in Lehigh and 1212 Country Club Blvd, Suite 301 in Cape Coral.

Other additions to the staff at LRMC are Jeannie Leake, chief nursing officer and Margaret Gray, director of risk and patient safety management.
