Grow house bust nets detectives $130,000 in marijuana in Lehigh

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has confiscated $130,000 worth of marijuana in a grow house in Lehigh. The Lee County Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit responded to 2425 Churchill Ave. N., in Lehigh regarding the possibility of an active marijuana grow house.
When they arrived, detectives said they noticed several indications that they were at a grow house. They said a member of the Sheriff’s K-9 Unit also alerted detectives of the presence of narcotics outside the home. The incident occurred on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at around 4:50 p.m.
Two men who lived in the home arrived at the house and they were informed about the ongoing investigation. When detectives asked if they could search inside the home, one of the two men told detectives to “get a warrant.”
During this encounter, the K-9 indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle that the two men were traveling in. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of marijuana on the driver side floor, officials said.
At 9:45 p.m. investigators presented a search warrant to the occupants of the house and once inside, detectives said they located 130 marijuana plants along with equipment used for the purpose of growing marijuana. Detectives also discovered nearly a pound and a half of marijuana packaged for sale in the kitchen.

In total, the entire operation seized $130,000 worth of marijuana, officials said
Eduardo Perez-Riva, 32,and Ramirez Jorge Orlando, 48, have been charged with one count each of producing marijuana, trafficking more than 25 pounds of marijuana, possession of marijuana with Intent to sell and possession of narcotic equipment, all felony charges.
