Miracle unveil a new look for 2011

The Fort Myers Miracle will have a new look next season, which will be their 20th in Lee County.
New team logos, new uniform graphics and hat designs were unveiled Thursday at a press conference at Hammond Stadium.
It represents the first major change to the look of the franchise since 1999 when full color was added to the palm tree sprouting out of the “M” in the logo.
The main change lies in the alteration to the primary “Miracle” script. The font change also brings about a change to the “M” which is now extended below the name.
The Miracle also will have a new secondary logo that features the new script over a beach setting that gives the identity a strong connection to Southwest Florida.
The new uniforms feature a lighter shade of navy blue in the hats than the current version. Uniforms do away with the pinstripes for the first time since 1993 and carry the current Minnesota Twins logo on the left sleeve.
Next season will ushers in the introduction of a red batting practice/alternate jersey. A BP-only hat also will be red with a blue bill.
“As we head into our 20th season in Southwest Florida, we are excited to unveil a fresh new look that still will be familiar to Miracle fans,” Miracle General Manager Steve Gliner told the press gathering “We are really pleased with the new look to our logo and uniforms, and we hope Miracle fans will enjoy it as well.”
The Miracle contracted with Studio Simon to develop the new identity. Studio Simon worked with Major League Baseball Properties on the Minnesota Twins’ recent brand identity update. Studio Simon has done more than 50 team identity projects.
Fans will be able to purchase the new Miracle apparel and hats when they become available later in the fall. The remaining Miracle merchandise with the current logo, including game worn jerseys, is still available for a limited time.
