John Ursitti

John Ursitti, 57, of Lehigh, died on Sept. 2 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on Feb. 1, 1953 in the Bronx, N.Y., and was the son of Luciano and Mary Ursitti. He moved to Florida with his family in 1975.

Ursitti spent many years coaching Little League and youth soccer, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Florida Gators. He was employed by Stan’s Coffee/ P&L Foods for 33 years.

Ursitti is survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy; his daughter Janeen Scotti along with her husband Michael and their daughter Lea; and his sons Vincent and Nicholas. He also is survived by his parents Luciano and Mary Ursitti of Cape Coral; his brother Vincent (Nina) and his family, of Mystic, Conn.; and his sister Roseann (Robert) Cavaluzzi and her family, of Cape Coral; and several extended family members among whom he was affectionately known and loved as “John Brown.”

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, Sept. 5 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Farley Funeral Home, 1100 Lee Blvd., Lehigh. A funeral will be held at Farley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday.
