Smoked chicken dinner tickets now available

A smoked chicken dinner fundraiser at Christ United Methodist Church, 1430 Homestead Rd, Lehigh Acres (corner of Homestead Road and Lee Blvd will be

served from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18. Take-out will be available. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Menu is smoked chicken, baked beans, potato salad and dessert. Purchase your

tickets early at the church office Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at the door as long as tickets are available. For more information,

Bus to provide trip to Steelers game at Tampa Bay on Sept. 26

Fun Biz Charter in Lehigh is planning a bus ride from Majestic Golf Club on Sunday, Sept. 26 at 8:30 a.m.

“We going to the Steelers game at Tampa Bay,” said Steve Baker, owner of the Fun Biz Charter bus.

Continental breakfast, tail gate party, drinks, snacks, ticket for the game with great seats, Baker says, and a fun bus party fide will be provide for $150 per seat and that includes tickets.

“We’re taking you to the Steelers/Tampa Bay football game. You just have to step into the bus, take a seat and enjoy the 50-inch flat panel TV with surround sound, hardwood floor, wet bar, restroom, air ride, beverages, snacks and laughter with your friends. Egyptian dinner dance set at the Elks

An Egyptian dinner dance with entertainment is planned for Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Lehigh Acres Elks Lodge at 1050 Joel Blvd. in Lehigh. Tickets may be purchased from the Lodge Lounge or by calling 369-2602. For more information call 368-3709 or 368-7485. Tickets are $20. There will be prizes given away, said Bobbie Slanker, a spokeswoman with the Lodge. Everyone who attends is encouraged to dress as an Egyptian, Slanker said.

Women’s Club to meet Sept. 17

The General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres September meeting will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17 at the Faith Lutheran Church on Leeland Heights Blvd.

The program will be about the proposed Lehigh Acres free medical clinic and will be presented by Dr. Stephen Schroering.

The General Women’s Club of Lehigh Acres will hold its annual luncheon card party and game day on Saturday, Oct. 23 at 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd. in Lehigh.
